Safer Futures
Men’s Behaviour Change Program

What we do
What is the Safer Futures program?
Safer Futures supports men who have hurt their partner, former partner or other family member and want to change their behaviour.
Hurt and harm can come in many forms, so our program provides and opportunity for men to learn more about their behaviour and the impact of their choices on the people they care about.
Safer Futures has 20 sessions in total, which involves a combination of 13 sessions of group content and 7 sessions of individual support.
Warrina is accredited with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to provide this service in Coffs Harbour and our program complies with the NSW Practice Standards for Men’s Behaviour Change Programs (MBCP).
What happens at Safer Futures
After referral you will sit with our staff to explore the program and determine if it’s the right fit for you. During this session, we take the time to understand your story and identify the support you need to build safer, more positive relationships with your family.
If it is the right fit for you, we then spend 3 more individual sessions exploring your situation and preparing you for group-based learning.
In the group sessions there will be up to 12 men who come from various spaces in our community. You will do a range of activities led by experienced facilitators who provide you with information, support discussions within the group and allow you time to reflect.
The group environment is respectful and non-judgmental, offering a supportive space to learn and grow. Through these sessions, you’ll gain practical tools and strategies to help nurture safer and stringer relationships.
