Working for Warrina means being at the forefront of violence prevention and response in our community.

All staff are required to work collaboratively and within a feminist framework.

The Warrina team is made up of exceptional professionals who bring a variety of skills and experience to the work we do. We employ case workers, crisis intervention workers, advocates, specialist community outreach workers, as well as men’s behaviour change practitioners and trainees.

The most important attribute we look for in new team members is passion, dedication and contribution to our workplace culture.

Donations

Warrina welcomes your support of our work. Every dollar you donate goes directly to help clients. Donations to Warrina support us to deliver food, material aid, pay for emergency accomidation, transport women and kids to a safe place, run support groups and make improvements to the Women and Children’s refuge.

We are a deductible gift recipient, with all donations over $2.00 tax deductible.

Donating quality goods

Where we can, Warrina loves to rehome good quality second hand goods! Warrina is committed to responsible environmental actions, so we aim where ever possible to reduce contributions to land fill.
If you would like to donate, please write to donations@warrina.org.au with the following information

  1. What is the goods and what shape is it in?
  2. Where is it located and could you assist with transportation
  3. How long can you hold it for?

Please also send a picture of the item attached to the email Warrina considers the following when accepting quality goods.

  1. Is it high quality and in working order?
  2. Do we have a client who needs it (due to the high cost of storage, we can not hold stuff for long periods of time)?
  3. Can we transport it for a low cost?

If we can not accept the donation, please consider taking it to a local op shop. Warrina has a relationship with a number of op shops who will ensure our families are able to set up their new homes with all the creature comforts they deserve.

Sharing skills, sharing time

There are many ways you can assist Warrina in supporting women and children to live a life free of violence. Warrina is made up of a community based Board of Management, accepts volunteers and is able to connect you to clients who require pro-bono services.

  • mechanics
  • media

  • HR
  • landscaping or lawn
  • animal rescue or care
  • dental care
  • IT

Student
Placements

Warrina is able to take on student placements for community welfare, bachelor or masters qualifying in social work.

To complete a student placement, please get in touch via email to employment@warrina.org.au with your course details, your CV, placement dates and your university or TAFE coordinator’s contact details. Please be sure to also speak to your area of interest and intended outcomes of the placement so we can ensure we are a good fit for your studies.

Please note that due to the nature of some of our programs student participation is not suitable.
